Education

Even though i wasn't born a genius nor the studious type, when it comes to my own child, i hope to do my part to develop my kids academically. In the past, my parents can't really intervene in my studies since they did not really went through high level of education, so most of the times, i was left on my own, or attended tutions to catch up on my studies. I wasn't the diligent type thus i did not pass with flying colors except for PSLE which i think i did quite well already.

With the education system now, its very difficult that the parents can really leave the kids on their own, most probably they will drown, and this is what you don't wish to happen. So i believe some form of guide from the parents are necessary. I do not wish to be the KS parents who send the kids to numerous enrichment classes, but i do agree to expose to classes which i feel would benefit my kids, but that would be limit to 1 class for each period only. Till now, Hayden have not joined any such classes so far, so i will be keeping a lookout to what is suitable for him.

Waldorf, Montessori, Transdisplinary (this is what Heidi is attending currently), these are the methods which i come across so far. I have not much indepth study on them, but i try to follow any good approach if i come across them. I won't hope that my kids are top 1 in class, but i hope i give them the chance to do their best, and be their guide as long as i can. Thus i do spend a lot of effort to gather teaching materials, tools (i invested quite a lot, and i MUST put them to good use..haha), however i think its time to review my materials already and start a structured approach on how to utilise them.

Heidi has been impressing us with the various words she already can recognise for the chinese words or english words. Thus i do believe efforts does pay off, so it motivates me to engage her in more interesting activities to motivate her to learn more. However, i do think i need to access how to make learning more meaningful, instead of just asking her to recognise the words, being able to use the words meaningfully are more important. For maths, she can associate counting objects with numbers up till 20, so i hope to further strengthen on this and have her counting further. For A-Z, she is still not so farmiliar, and needs hints along the way, or she has to sing the ABC song to help her, so i suppose we need more practise.

How do you make your learning more fun? Ideas welcome.

Been trying to teach her to recognize words, though i rarely find time too, she still managed to recognise a lot of words already. Bought the Peter and Jane readers

from booksdepository after reading some reviews that it is a good way to introduce reading for beginning readers. Indeed Heidi started to read book 1a mostly by herself after reading with her a couple of times, however i find the stories a tad too boring. But not to worry because mummyhas invested in many books from booksdepository..hoho and my recent dangdang orders came in finally after 2 months of super long wait.

its tough to keep up with life, not to mention a blog, but i still would like to keep this much updated as possible to remind me of the good times with my family :D

April

15th to 17th - We went on a trip Cameron Highlands together with the Leong family. Rented a 7 seater and off we go. We set off around 830am from our house and over to theirs to pick them up, and gosh was the car full of barang barang for the kids. But thanks to Chris, we were not short of anything, we even brought our own slow cooker and kettle! 2 kiasu mums indeed. The trip was long and tiring, but luckily both little ones slept on and off, but little Luke decided to have fun throughout the trip, boy was his mummy tired out by him. We stopped by Leong's hometown to catch lunch, a nice vegetarian fare at a nice restaurant. The trip up the mountain was horrdendous, with most of us car sick - Heidi was the first to throw up, followed by Chris then Luke. I had a very bad giddiness but did not vomit in the end. On the first night we stayed in a cheap apartment, but it was too "nice" for us to stay on, so we decided to pamper ourselves and stayed in Hotel Equatorial which was splendid but costs RM600 for a night! Most of the time were spend indoor since we had to cook, let the kids nap, but we managed to squeeze some time to shop at the night market, eat at the steamboat place. 2nd day we went to strawberry farm and pluck strawberries which was quite fun (perhaps more for myself..haha), Heidi wasn't so keen after plucking a few strawberries. The food at the pasar malam was very nice, there are the famous fritters (deep dried sweet potatoes balls, fried enoki mushrooms, abalone mushrooms and all other sorts. On the last day, we also went to Boh tea farm which was very breezy and a nice refreshing tea smell. Overall the trip was very enjoyable but i doubt we will want to drive up again anytime soon..haha

May

Kids were sick - down with cough and flu for the longest time..Hayden took almost 3 plus weeks, Heidi almost3 weeks plus high fever in between..

29th-30th - We went to resort world for a 2 day 1 night stay at Festive hotel. Hubby used the Genting points to redeem us the family room. Heidi hearts the loft bed, can't stop climbing up and down, even squeeze the bed with daddy at night to zz. Hayden seems to be not used to sleeping in the hotel, very difficult to fall asleep and keep waking up in the night. I felt more tired than relax at the hotel... :(...plus i did a tooth filling which gave me the migraines for days..hub had to work while we were at the pool...so only me n Heidi swim, didi played at the sand area. very nice pool..too bad we did not take any photos.

Hayden started walking a lot since end May, over the last few days he can walk very far unassisted. :D He's a happy boy who is always full of smiles and loves to eat!!

2.4.2011 - My last pump for Hayden..retiring my pumps. Still latching on for fun though, miss the bonding times..

3.4.2011 - Liting's mum passed away. She is a very nice lady, strict but always so gentle. I always remember her as a very neat person, no nonsense, no big laughter but always smiling whenever we visit. Bless you auntie, the lords will watch over you.

3.4.2011 - i scolded my maid until i literally shout at her and ask her to not do anything and go to her room. This is not something i want to remember, but a reminder to myself, not to ever blow my temper, the worst is just ignore her or ask the hub to talk to her. Sigh.

Things i wanted to do with my kids

With Heidi i had lots of ideas of activities to do with her, flashcards, puzzles, playdough, coloring, painting..we done most of it but sadly i realised i have been doing it lesser and lesser since Hayden came along. Taking care of their basic needs already take up most of my time, after lunch its usually nap time follow by prearation for dinner which actually doesn't leave much time for activities.. I wonder how the other mums plan it.

Luckily Heidi still has the luxury to attend quite some enrichment classes since 6 mth old but poor didi hasn't any yet! Even the flashcards i made at home has only been shown to him a few times.

I will start to make a plan of how weekends can be spent effectively even if we are not at home i will bring the flashcards out! Am determine to do the best for my kiddos! If we don't make an effort, who will?

Updates on Hayden
1) likes to eat as in really like! He will definately come to you as long as you have food, and he will make sounds to demand you to feed him. Likes to puts thing in mouth and has a fetish for eatng paper
2) he has been able to crawl since 5 months, from leopard crawl to all fours now, much faster than jiejie who isn't so fond of crawling. Can cruise since 6-7 months, probably he will start to walk before 1.
3)Understands if you ask him to hand things to you, clap the hand, hi 5, touch your nose, waving goodbye he knows as well but hardly does it
4) likes to snatch the iphone & toys whenever jie jie is playing, and very bad tempered and fierce if he cannot snatch it!
5)can say mama, papa, mummum jie jie and lots of googoo gaagaa :D

This little one is much more full of smiles, always trying to electrify you with his enchanting sweet smiles.

Updates on Heidi
Sick again for the past one week plus, fever, cough, running nose..sigh

1) loves to talk, can't stop chanting
2) loves to rhyme and sing and wiggle her little butts
3) not that fond of eating but likes mac hashbrown and butter, does not like fish like mummy, loves chicken wing but also not too fond recently probably because she had too much
4) cannot write yet, still scribbling and doodling, not much interest to want to learn writing
5) can recite first para of 三字经
6) is bilingual, however her chinese pronounciation is very ang mo
7) still drinking 180ml of milk only
8) can run pretty well but i doubt she will be an athlete
9) loves her didi but can be quite rough too if didi comes to snatch her toy

Love them both to bits!!

Little one has been frequently waking up at 4am and needs to be carried and pat back to sleep. It really is taking a toil on me especially when its a monday morning and one needs to be fresh for work, it makes it worse if one is sick.. Sigh..生不如死。。

The fact that i have to travel again really makes me feel so sian!!i will miss my kids so much, luckily i have my loving mum, otherwise i will vomit blood to depend on my maid!!

This is the first time Hayden joins us for cny! We really can call it a complete family reunion, 2 grandparents, 2 grandchildren, and 2 of us, triple 好！Heidi can also join in the steamboat fun this year :D i hope for many such good years to come!

Hayden has been having running nose for the past 2 weeks, and sat his cough started as well..bad bad..in the mid of cough and sniffy nose, he also was running a temperature. Heidi also caught the sniffles last 2 weeks. Weather has been quite erratic, sudden downpours and very cold wind. Luckily both are still very active and still making me very tired as always.

We are planning to drive up to Malaysia this coming weekend, so hopefully they recover in time to enjoy the trip. First time that Hayden is going back to visit the great grandma (my paternal grandma) :D. Will get a family shot together :D.

Hayden flu again

This is the 3rd time Hayden caught the flu bug but this time nobody passed it to him. However could see that this time is more serious with more mucus and watery nose and eyes. He was prescribed zyrtex oral solution for night time.

Heidi also has little bouts of accidents recently with bruises, cuts incurred during her play. Her last accident today was on her big toe while playing hide and seek behind the door, her big toe got "kiap" from the base of the door and skin n flesh was tored :( sigh..my little girl.. Can you try to behave more..

Things she said which i find it quite amusing becos some response i duno where she picked up from :)
1) i had a pimple..heidi: "mummy are u pain in the nose?"..
2) when i climb up high..heidi: "be careful mummy..later fall down ah..be careful"

3) when i came down from cleaning the aircon..heidi: " good job mummy!"...-_-"

4) at night when she's sleeping on the bed then she will sit up..heidi"mummy, i wake up already.."..M:"but Heidi, we just started to sleep.."..-_-""

5) after she read the good night moon story...heidi: "good night mummy...gn daddy...jasper...didi..popo..gonggong..ah ma..pateh(maid)..Dora..Barney..?!?

6) heidi:" i like to eat sweets mummy..i love sweets"....

7) I was carrying didi..heidi"mummy carry..", m:"no..i am carrying didi, ask papa to carry you"..heidi:"no..didi give papa carry"...-_-"

Sometimes i feel quite lost in life especially over work and having to come home to take care of the 2 but end of the day, come to think of it, the 2 darlings have brought much joy to our lives and much laughter despite the frequent frustration.

By the way, Hayden has started to wave his hand like "zao cai mao" to mean goodbye when we say "tata" :D simply adorable!

Heidi refuses lunch in school

My little princess has decided to diet! refuses her lunch in school depsite teachers using stickers, drawings as rewards for kids who finishes lunch. Sigh, its quite a headache when she refuses all the foods that is being offered. It seems that her stomach is quite small ya, don't need much food to fuel her up...hmm..

I really hope she can learn to enjoy eating, cos i like to cook for her and hope to enjoy eating with her when we are at home or outside.

Mastitis

first time i kena such severe blocked ducts (like mini golf balls size lumps on the right size)..super tender n swollen to touch, with mild fever as well..keep pumping n massaging and asking baby h to nurse faithfully. It seems that today is much better but still very painful :(

Hayden started to crawl a lot today, i think he has started to crawl since last 2 weeks, but today i tempted him with objects with a distance away from him and he has managed to crawl and grabbed the objects. :) This little boy is getting cuter by the way.

Heidi is more or less diaper trained, at home we seldom put on diaper for her except during nap times. Most of the time she will promptly tell us when she wants to pee or poo, however there are still some occasions where she refuses to tell us and started to poo in the pants.

This is not a good sign if its already 1030pm nearing 11pm and he refuses to sleep. He will wail and scream very pathetically if i switch off the lights and close the doors (he realised its time to sleep and he is not willing to). It's a strain when i am already very tired from work, and with Heidi also not asleep yet (i have to make her sleep after Hayden sleeps), so it becomes a double stress :(

Finally Friday is arriving and the happy thing is i will be on half day leave..yippee..planning to attending a wedding dinner and bringing Heidi along (first time - Weiguo you should be honoured :P). Hopefully she behaves :).

Christmas is coming again - my fav tine of the year besides New Year. I simply love shimmering decos and lightnings whenever the festive period if here, makes one feel like in a fairy tale (sorry i know i m in my small 3s..but then there's a child in everyone right?) Need to get presents..argg..most difficult to get since in this age everyone has everything they could need, and i dun really fancy getting ornaments which ends up collecting dust (headache headache..)..suggestions pls?!?! for galfrens, for hubby (keke)

Not too sure if this is the apt sentence now but somehow it pops right up when i wanted to write this post..i tot after 6 months..it wld b much easier when hayden wakes up less often..pumping is at longer hours..work is more routined?!?but instead i m still feeling so lethagic..so easily pissed n hayden decides suddenly not to sleep through..n gy have so much "ot" that i almost have to bring the kids home everyday..myself n the maid in the cab! Its straining me n definately any relationships as well..i m short tempered with the maid as usual with her stupidity.. Work still sux and now with hayden for refusing to go back to sleep..and the hub for pissing me twice in a day and now he decides to sleep at the sofa! Petty man！sigh..

Are things ever going to get better? Sometimes i wonder if not having the second one will be better..sigh.. But of cos all these negative tots go away when i see my adorable son! I must admit he's a darling most of the times..

After more than one and a half year, i went back to play volleyball for the first time. I must say i did not miss it so much like before. Probably i felt tired recently so don't really enjoy the game that much. It's also the first noon where we left both kids with mil to enjoy our individual activities. I think being with them is much more fun though. Hayden is able to flip from tummy to back since 2 weeks plus. Its very adorable when he does that. Heidi doesn't seem to fancy the brother that much, she dun really make an effort to care for the little brother. I hope this will change as she grows older. Hayden is due to start on solids soon so i need to go check out the cereals already..spree here i come.. Hee

yes - absolutely necessary & perhaps a long one. The work is getting non-rewarding nowadays, i sometimes wonder why am i in the "Engineering" department when i am not doing any engineering work actively. Duh

Back to my lovely angels who perked my days after work.

Heidi - throwing tantrams (again..) but recently over the shoes she want to wear to school. Basically i do not have much problems letting her choose the shoes but the bus auntie commented that they can't find her shoe if she don't wear the same one. Duh...I wonder why is there a need for the shoe rack to have names when the auntie don't read the names off the rack. She has been drinking lesser and lesser milk too (probably she find milk not tasty anymore..hmm..i stopped drinking milk eversince i can speak probably (1 yrs old??). She's always so cheeky during mealtimes, she will have these small movements, move her head, shrug her shoulders,give you her cheeky smile/grinz/look..hmm..but its maddening when she take 1 HOUR to finish her meals, nowadays i do not have much patience to feed her. sigh.

Hayden - my little screamer who loves to scream nowadays..so adorable..haha..though its really loud and sharp screams. i should record it down! My little terror is learning to sleep through since last week, off to bed at 10plus and slept till 530am at least! so happy, even though i still have to wake up mid of the night to pump but at least its pump and back to bed instead of tending to a crying for milk baby. Sometimes he stirs in his sleep, but usually he can be patted back to zz, or if we offer him a pacificer. He's such a lovely fellow with his enchanting smiles :) Another milestone is that he managed to lift his hips (like a caterpillar..keke...so now he's able to go-stan..)

So wished that i can looked after them myself, they are growing up so fast that i cannot catch up.

Heidi loves to make me sing..haha..probably because I sing to her very often and especially to get her to do the things, singing is one thing to get her going. She has attended the lapbooking classes for 5 weeks already but it seems that she is not able to sit still and focus. Am not sure if it's her or typical behavior of this age group. I find that the other kids seemed to be more interested in the class activities. I find that Heidi has very short attention span(probably like me) so the activities cannot be the same for too long.

Hayden is growing well,still not pooing regularly but the funny thing is he will always poo after a visit to Dr Tay. He has started to bite on his fingers (drumstick) recently, I wonder if it's a sign of teething?(too early??) Heidi had her first tooth quite late, probably 7 months.

Happy 31st birthday!

Let's start with happy things. :)

I woke up at 2am n got a wonderful pressie from dear hub -a limited edition glow in the dark camera! We brought xx to the lapbooking class as usual & of course she was very clingy to me throughout the class as always. She actually cried when we sang the goodbye song.. Aww..she actually can't bear to say goodbye..emo gal :)

Afterward we went to eat UDDERS ice cream..yum yum.. I had mao san wang n orange bitter choc on waffle..super nice! Dh had cookies n cream & awefully choc..very yummy too! We went to collect their photos & we headed to punggul for our first prawning session!! We spent 2 hrs n only managed to catch 2 prawns!not a easy feat but we had fun!! Had to buy a pack of fresh milk for xx as we ate quite a late dinner after the prawning session.I think she had too much to drink & did not really took much dinner. All in all it was a fun day :)

Now just a little upset today was that I accidentally cut Hayden's flesh while trying to cut his fingernail..I felt super super bad & heartache..big sigh!!his cries make me wana tear too!! Heartache :(!! Sorry darling I really did not mean it! And the night did not end well with the MIL making me feel that I do not know how to take care of my child & caused him hurt.duh duh! Super upset & yet had to say such revolting remarks! So angry that I told her it was a accident ok! No mother would do it deliberately!her remarks was pointless!I ignored her all the way until I got on the car!! Big Duh! She always think she is so much better in terms of taking care of children, I dun mean to b rude but I think to each his own!my children my way!!and the exasperating thing is she actually try to leave my door n gate unlocked n wanted to "look" for us(look for xx only in fact) when actually we are not even downstairs!! Gasped in horror if there should be a break-in..duh..dunno what is she thinking! the tot of her makes me angry..so greatful that I do not have to stay with her..Amen!!

It's not heathy to end with a bad note to one's bday..luckily watched a nice show on mio tv to end the day..super tired now...zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hayden flips!!

Didi seems to reached his milestones earlier than jiejie, he managed to leave his head at 3 weeks and today he did his first flip by himself successfully!I know that he will flip soon as past 2 weeks he's been trying hard to do it :).who knows he might be able to walk before 1 :).

As i mentioned before, Heidi does not have a fantastic temper (probably inherited from me :P), she can smash my ipod and daddy's iphone to the floor when she's in her foul mood (MY GOD!). We had discipline her a few times on these situations but it doesn't seem to help much. She is still very unconsolable and demand her way, and today was worse, because the teacher told me she actually head but other children's tummies (even her best friend Rafael!!!!) Sigh..mummies frens, any advise?

Baby Hayden soon to flip

Hayden's developments seems to be faster than jiejie. He's able to lift his head at 3 weeks plus and now at 11 weeks,he is learning to flip already. Overall baby h has been a easy baby,sleeps for longer period in the day and also do not fuss much as compared to his first month. His smile after each milk is so angelic that I felt so moved. So sad that I will be going back to work SOON,super sickening! Am going to miss the time with my double Hs..:(

Heidi again has been very emotional recently..sigh..with the cough n running coming back again..it made it worse...plus her school has cases of hfmd so staying at home attributes to much of her whining and cries and temper...sigh...seeing her reminds of the younger me..Haha..cos I tink I was also quite emotional when I was young..cry n feel frustrated easily...i wonder how we should correct this? I think my mum's method by ignoring me doesn't help much cos I felt even worse n negative..so I should not use the same method on H. It's important to constantly remind myself not to lose my temper at her because she's only a 2.5 years old and sometimes her comprehension of right and wrong is not mature yet..Keke it's unfair to make her grow up overnight just because she's a big sister now when actually she's still a big baby wanting more love and care.

Screaming

Haiz..this is not good but everyday i have to literally screamed Heidi to go to sleep cos she keeps moving here and there and can't settle down. It doesn't help when didi is also wide eyes awake and is making goo goo ga ga noises..hmm..Yes the past 3 nights we have been sleeping together in a room, to avoid the meltdown of Heidi when she needs to look for me before she sleeps, and the waking up in the middle of the night looking for me..It's tough when the two young ones only look for me..but its quite a good feeling when you know they only need you..haha..

I need to go research on some tips in order to let Heidi go to bed peacefully

It has been 8 weeks into my maternity leave and sad to say, i have not achieved much with Heidi. I will try harder. Things i hope she can pick up

1. Toilet trained for the day

2. Nap on her own in the afternoon

3. Go to bed willingly at night and sleep

4. Learn to ask for things using Please and May I

5. Speak in short sentences

She's going to start her lapbooking class on 25th July, and soon i will be back to work..argh..

June is a month of sickness for my duo Hos..first Heidi with her persistant cough, then running hose...then after been to 4 doctors..she had a fever spike, boy was i worried when she had cold shivers after she woke up from her sleep at 10plus pm..and i could see her turning blue..i hug her so tight and i was really in a panic..i quickly called gy who was working outside, no answer, i called jeffrey, no answer either..argh..i called up the maid, make her carry didi while i call our neighbour..luckily she offer to take care of didi while i rushed jiejie KKH..gy called back and said will meet me at KKH. Her fever spiked to 40.4..i was so so worried, then when we were asked to sponged her, she had a FIT..OMG..it really was nerve wreaking to hold your dear child who is in a fit and do not know what to do..luckily we are in the hospital, otherwise i really felt so so helpless. Tears well up when they started poking Heidi's hands to draw blood, and seeing her in pain, sigh..my heart bleeds. The fit stopped after 2-3 mins, and doctor proclaimed she was ok, but temperature and heartrate still high, so we continue sponging. Luckily her fever came down, and we managed to discharge at 4am..

Didi caught the sniffles from jiejie and also suffered from sneezing and running nose for 2 weeks..poor baby..he also has problem with his poo poo i think cos he hasn't been pooing for 4-5 days already, but constantly farting, he must be super uncomfortable.

With 2 Hos, they really filled up my life with "excitements". may both of them grow up heathy and happy. I love you both, and of cos not forgetting the daddy too :)

Its been more than 6 weeks into my ML..argh..how time passes so quickly, i am left with 10 weeks before going back to work :(. Heidi has been behaving better recently, with being able to communicate and express herself better, less tantrums but still emo at times. Hayden is up to his mischief in some nights where he can ngek ngek for 2 hrs from 10-12 non-stop for no reason..sigh..i am sleep deprived :(

When they are sound asleep, all is at peace and they r so angelic when sleeping :) On one hand i hope Hayden can grow up fast so that we can all go out and play, but on the other i think i will miss his babyness :). We brought Heidi to resort world for a "tour" of the place since all of us has never been there before and one day i hope to bring my 2 kiddos to enjoy the rides in universal studio :)

Really hesitant whether i should extend my leave or not..really DUN WISH TO GO BACK TO WORK..sianz..but then i need the $$..arghh..

If you think that working is much worse than staying at home, then you are quite wrong. On the contary, i have more time at work to "surf" net then i do at home..haha..With the 2 little angels at home, free time is hardly a term i could associate with, getting enough sleep is already a blessing, not to say to have "more" time to do your own things.

However, i believe being a SAHM has its joys, because u get to witness all the stages of your child's growing up phase, all their precious first times which parents now would video for keepsake. Regret to say, we did not manage to capture or witness a lot of Heidi's 1st times, as the maternity leave during that time was only 12 weeks. Not to say that 16 weeks is much more, but at least better..i hope the goverment can continue to improve on this aspect further, even 16 weeks is not enough as usually we would like to breastfeed for 6 months and above, so i would recommend 6 months of paid maternity leave, better if the husband is entitled to paternity leave too (the child is his too!!).

New bundle of joy

Finally having a little time to blog abt the new bundle of joy. First few days was in frenzy trying to cope with the new baby, jaundice, breastfeeding, pumping,dealing with the emotions of #1..whew..not easy. Hubby did not had good night sleep for several nights cos baby Hayden likes to play in the night and shit 2-3 times in the mid-nites..sigh, his milk demands are also more during the night compared to the day..i wonder why..i did not had the habit of eating supper though (could that be the reason why he's so starved at night??)

Birth story - i must say this time is simply short and sweet :) despite the pain (with epi though!!)

515am - woke up and getting ready to go hospital, Heidi was already deposited at my mum's place the night before. Hubby boil an egg and eat for fast and smooth delivery, dunno how true, but i tink it works for my case.

630am - reached hospital, admit and went into delivery ward. Fleet was administered, then waiting for anesthetician Dr Dicky Tay to arrive.

7am - Epi was administered..then the waiting game starts..

1030am - Dr Chan came, already 6cm dilated..yippee..nurse asked to start pushing

1115am - fully dilated..pushed for 2-3 times and baby hayden was out...YEAH.

#1 was pretty emotional the week before, even the teachers had to called and inform us. I suppose the 6th sense was playing its part (how weird..). Last min (day before D day), i went to buy a Dora laptop for her, knowing that she would be thrilled to receive it, compared to the counting,sorting game i bought for her. Luckily, the week went by and Heidi seems to be more receptive towards the brother which is a good sign, still occasional meltdowns she sees her popo/me feeding didi and not able to carry/play with her.

Hayden is a angel during the day, sleep and drinks, poo n pees, not much fussing in the day, but turns little terror at night. His big eyes looking at you during 2-3am is simply..sigh...at a loss for words..but he's a darling boy..so hopefully he will learn to treat us better soon..

morning fuss

Perhaps she was asked to wake up too early today, but she sure wasn't in her best moods. The moment she woke up, she cried to watch care bears which we did not want to switch on for her. Hub had to go for IPPT by 8.30am so we were in a rush to wash her up,drink milk and send her off to school. She stopped crying for a moment, drank her milk and again wanted us to switch on the TV for her, which we refused again. She cry and make a big fuss lying on the floor, refusing to brush teeth. She was also down with a bad cough, then mucus all over her nose..sigh..in the end, had to pacify her with a small packet of M&M, finally she stopped..whew..this little princess needs to be spanked her butt someday :P

Feeling more and more lethargic these few days, really hope that D-day will arrive soon but according to Dr Chan, he thinks i won't be anytime early..sigh. Sleeping is hardly possible after waking up to pee, so tossing and turning in bed has been the daily mid-night activity :(

Today we are bringing our new helper home, feeling weird and duno what to expect..hmm..but the house definately needs some cleaning up. We have a whole load of washing, vacuuming and mopping work to do..haha..GY will feel so relieve this weekend (FINALLY he says..haha).

Will be meeting my dear vball girls tmr as well, am having a porridge gathering at my place. Everyone is suppose to bring a condiment to go along with the porridge while i am tasked to cooked a big pot of porridge. I think i shall prepare some braised tau kee,tau pok & tau kwa as well :)

Yeah..am at 35 weeksplus now, really can start to count down le..cannot wait to unload!! Am planning to take leave from 26th April onwards, so that i have 1 week of rest before D day (if everything is on the dot :).

Heidi is getting rather stubborn recently, refuse to let popo changed for her, nor changed diapers, have to pacify her then she will let you do it. sigh. This morning only told her not to peel little bits of the biscuits when eating otherwise will drop onto herself and onto the floor, but her itchy hands keep doing it. Hopefully she will grow out of this phase soon. She's always our darling but she can be such a terror sometimes..zzz...

What diet is good for baby? :)

1. orange veg – sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, pumpkin. Vit A is important for our skin, first line of defense for our immune system.
2. mushroom , like shitake– help in production of white blood cells to act against foreign bacteria
3. Lemon – ideal food for restoring acid-alkali balance.
4. broccoli, spinach, green leafs veg like kailan, green beans
5. Yoghurt – important food, especially after taking antibiotics.Antibiotics destroy most of the bacteria in our body. It destroys beneficial bacteria as well. So got to take yoghurt or prebiotics rich food like asparagus, bananas, yoghurt, to restore them back , for our stomach.
6. Eliminating sugar intake! Can take raw sugar, or molasses in cooking or baking. Excessive sugar ( refined white sugar) suppresses immune system.
7. seaweed, algae
8. blueberries ,orange, strawberry, kiwi, apple, papaya, banana,
9. flaxseed, sunflower seed, pumpkin seed, sesame seed, almond, walnuts, cashew – I add grinded flaxseed, wheatgerm, lecithin, ground almond, into his plain yoghurt
10. protein rich food like soy, tofu, miso, tempeh, eggs, lentils
11. healthy fats- olive oil, nuts and seeds, avocados
12. alkaline based grains – millet, quinoe.
13. fruit and veggie juices- include carrot, beetroot, apple
14. Lots of water
15. wholegrain, wholemeal
16 zinc rich food – beans, yoghurt, eggs, milk

Remedies for cough

Got this from a Feb mummy, decided to post it here to remind myself to try it if ever Heidi gets a cough. Natural remedies is strongly preferred, and i wish to try it too instead of always relying on western medication.

Ingredient A

5 red dates (remove the seed)

20 woldberries

750cc water

1 piece old ginger

Ingredient B

10g pure lotus root powder

5g brown sugar

Boil A for 30 min

Mix B in cold water

Add to A after 30 mins. Bring it to boil again for a little while, then turn off the heat. Serve warm.

Playdough recipe

1 cup water
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup salt
1 tbsp cream of tartar (this is the preservative)
food coloring
1 cup flour

Put all the ingredients except the flour into a saucepan and heat until warm,stir to mix.
Remove from the heat and add the flour, stir until it forms a ball then tip it out onto the work surface.
Leave it to cool, whilst it is cooling, mix up the next batch.
Once it has cooled you need to knead until smooth.
Store it in an airtight container or ziplocked bad and it will keep for ages.

Heidi has crossed her small 2 on chu yi of CNY - but we had a simple celebration with her this year, no parties, no fanciful decors, just a big barney cake on the eve and a little DIY cake on chu yi. I suppose she still enjoyed the birthday because she get to eat the nice cake :). We love you cutiepie!

She's enjoying herself in school (after a few episodes of crying which we still can't figure out why), also the school organised a CNY steamboat for the kids and the parents were asked to contribute.

Daddy bought a new cheong sam for her to wear, she looks darn sweet in that costume..haha.

Finally i can count down to my ML..haha..now its 43 working days away..WOOT! Hayden is growing well, already 1.85kg at the last checkup at 32 weeks. Doc commented he's on the big side though, i hope i will not have a hard time pushing. :P

Educating Heidi

Unfortunately, this mummy hasn't been too hardworking. Her enthusiasim with the flashcards "died" quite early, even though she has prepared quite a number of them, but was never consistent to show them. It is time to revive the projects of fun learning. I love the idea of teaching her, but sigh, being a FTWM is really quite difficult to manage work, home, and little tod..:(..i am still not that capable yet but i will perserve, especially with the second one coming out soon.

Heidi is going 2 years old in 4 days time, how time flies. She has attended LNT for 1 year already, i must say she learnt a bit from the classes, from how she interact with the teachers, and how she handles her activities, i am glad i did the right thing by giving her this opportunity to learn. I wonder if shichida will be better? :P

Lapbooking - i always hear this term, and there's this capable mum who is conducting classes for such activities, i will probably sign Heidi up when she finishes her LNT classes :). It sounds really fun.

Montessori - i read up quite a bit, even prepared certain materials, but i think so far i only done the color tablets with her. I suppose she can recognize blue and red now, i should be more consistent to teach her the basic colors.

Reading - This is a nightly activiy, she will gladly go to her shelf and pick out a story book for me to read to her. She enjoys reading a lot and is able to recognize most of the pictures in the stories. :)

Counting - She can count 1 to 10, but needs prompting..she likes to swallow her 5, so she will count 4 and jump to 6..hmmm...

Chinese - only taught her the first line of 三字经。。。哈哈。。。

Music - She isn't really singing that much, but she can sign when we sing twinkle little stars, when u r happy..clap (action), this mummy and daddy aren't really memorising much songs to teach her, i better try to get her more VCDs of children songs.

Cartoons - She has been watching a lot of Barneys, Leapfrog, elmo..:P..Dora should be good, i will get some for her. Even though i hope not to let her watch too much TV, its better to have more communication time with her then dumping her to the TV. I read that too much TV affects also the speech development, compared to a child who communicates more to the parents.

Art - we always put her crayons and drawing paper on her desk, and everyday she will go to the desk and scribble her artwork..haha..but she always want someone to draw her the apple..hmm..i need to teach her to request something else besides only this i suppose. In school she also do some artwork i think, so overall she enjoys this very much.

Lost weight, not eating well, teething?

Heidi has not been eating well eversince she started school, after her episodes of high fever, croup, running nose, she has lost quite some weight. She's already much better from her illness, hopefully her appetite is returning. She's also drooling with saliva recently, i wonder if she's teething, given her poor appetite..hmm..better check out her molars if they are cutting out. Her school seems quite fun, the toddlers are settling well, not much crying when i bring Heidi to class today. H has been great so far, never even cried once, the only problem is she drink so little and do not like to eat..grr..otherwise i think she pretty much enjoy her class.

Chinese New Year is coming, so looking forward to it since i have taken several days of leave..keke..sigh, really no mood to work especially with the little one coming..super nuah. Still thinking when is a good time to become a SAHM..tsk tsk..have to discuss in detail with hub, so looking forward to the day when i can take care of the 2 little one myself.

Some updates on didi

Doc say he's growing well, much bigger sized than jiejie..which leave me a bit worried since i already had a hard time pushing jiejie out..ouch..=_="..We are aiming at labour on labour day..hopefully wish come true :). Papa has been buying a lot of clothes for didi too, some are like 2 years old?! Jiejie is always pointing to my tummy when i ask him where is didi? keke..i wonder if she really can associate with a baby..haha.

Everything went smoothly, H woke up in time for milk, change and off we went to school. She was very adaptable i must say, she walk into the classroom readily and went for the toys. Teacher Cecilia and Zhang laoshi are the teachers in charge of her class. I must say all the toddlers are doing quite well, except for 1-2 who was crying on and off. However, H din really finish her meals nor drink much water, i suppose she was too distracted,hopefully she can eat and drink better today.

First blog of the year - BRAND NEW YEAR

I hope its not too late to wonder how i should start off this year, basically i have not a clue yet..haha.

Heidi's year started quite systematically, with playgroup and a "CCA" in line..hoho..a little hiccups was that the playgroup or rather toddler care is suppose to start on the 4th Jan but was postpone to the 18th Jan. She will still continue her LNT for another term.

Her "CCA" did not really started well as expected, she was struggling and wriggling herself away from the handsome coach Victor..hohoho. I suppose the young chap did not know how to handle little missy. Hope the second lesson turned well. Daddy will be out for the coming weekend, enjoying his sun, sand and sea so i will be pretty busy with handling little missy.

I baked my first chiffon cake (banana chiffon cake) for the year - and it tastes good too, so that gives me confidence to bake a second one. :) and lots more too.

My first new year resolution would be to watch a movie,haha,what a simpe wish you might think, but this request is not easy to come by when u have a toddler at hand. haha. Time to think what to add on to my resolution lists... :)

Thanks to all aunties for the pressies for Heidi, especially Godma wei, Godma bei, Auntie Jeannie (adorable Gwen's mummy), Mdm Sung, Auntie Karin (Sweet Althea's mummy). She hearts all the pressies :)

Mummy also had fun times gathering with her frens since she cannot fly any longer..keke..folks more gatherings ok :)

As usual, we had the annual gathering at wei's house for our xmas party, its been a yearly event since 1997!! 12 years, OMG! :) Look at our happy photo! :)

it seems to fit my portfolio recently. or rather my time out of singapore is so frequent that i do not know which is home.sigh. I am hoping for the day (soon i hope) that i can be grounded and not able to fly anymore.

Little Ho is growing well, gynae mentioned he's on the big sized type..hmm. he has a rather big head and big tummy (this i swear cos we see his big big tummy on the screen)..hehe. we pronounced him fei zai ho for the time being.

Heidi has been more attention seeking and more like a drama queen. She can fake cry and drop on all fours on the floor when her demands are not met..hmm...no good, but its always very funny when she does this. :p

Been teaching Heidi to count her little toes - i will start with 1, she will say "twoee", "theee", then i say 4, sometimes she will say "five"..then ninee (her favorite), tenn...then yeah!! ya, she skipped the 6,7,8..hmmm...this little girl.

She's growing fast and we aren't really catching up, felt guilty for not teaching her more regularly because of work commitments, otherwise i think she will learn more. Sigh, the big plan is to deliver #2, and perhaps wait till next year end before implementing my major plan :). How i wish May come fast fast :), i am so looking forward to the 4 months maternity leave..woo hoo.

headache and morning sickness

trip to gynae is not fixed yet - mummy giam gana..delay longer then see gynae..keke..the trip to Dr Chan always burnt my pocket :(

She's getting a little bad tempered recently, hmm, especially when her demands are not met, she will throw a tantrums by knocking her head against the floor. This is a super bad behaviour, can anyone teach me how to deal with this? sigh

Time really flies as she's now in her 18th months, gosh, i missed her 18th months date cos i had been down with gastric flu the past few days..it's also time to bring her for a jab as well.

Her vocabulary hasn't really shown much improvement, but otherwise she pretty much understands what we are taking to her, as she will respond to our instructions.

sorry H for not updating your blog frequently, mummy been so bz cos been flying a lot..sigh..really miss u a lot when i am overseas.

Heidi is now 17th months and 11 days old..she's getting cuter and fatter (ops) by the way..haha..my mum has been doing a good job to feed her granddaughter very well. She is learning to speak now, with more words to her vocabulary :)
1) no more..though she can only say more and shake her hands..
2) byebye - a very soft and gentle bye bye..so gu niang
3) ish - for fish
4) rabbit - she pronouced it once and that's it
5) owl - also pronounced once..haha..i was actually doing the lacing cards for her and teaching her what is the animals on the cards
6) mummy - not that often but i am pretty sure she said it on a few occasions.. :)

She's more active at the playground, will climb up the stairs and slide down the slide on her own, so proud of her :) Her milk intake however is not as much as before, she sometimes only finish 120ml of her 180ml milk..always wasting milk here and there..hmm..but her porridge intake is quite a lot. My mum's serving is really generous that i am worried she's overeating..hmm...

Her hair is slightly longer and i can manage to type two ponytails for her, but this notti gal always pull the rubberband off.

H developed roseola ( distinctive rash just as the fever breaks) straight after the episodes of high fever. Luckily after 3 day, all rashes subsides just when we thought...new rashes as big as moquitoes bites came up !! arggh!

2nd fever for H

Little Heidi started having fever the day before, shocked mummy and daddy when her temp reached 39 deg and was shivering when i tried to sponge her mid of the night. I got worried and suggested we send H to KK a&e. So 7 am we were all dressed leaving the house - dam tired after not sleeping well in the night. We reached ard 730am, was surprised to see not much queue, by 8am we got to see the doc. H was still registering 38.8 when we see the doc, but she's still pretty active and boucing about. The doc did a urine test, check ears, lungs, throat (was a little inflamed), found nothing unusual, so ask us to feed her paracetomol and observe her temp. She also gave us Ibuprofen, told us to feed H that if the temp rise above 38.5 deg. In all, we spent $80 including medicine. Today is her second day, and she's still running a fever, but it reached a new high of 40 deg today, sigh, my mum had to give her a bath to cool her down. Dear H, please get well soon k, mummy n daddy love you so much.

H is getting more gu-niang looking with longer hair, she badly needs a haircut soon :). Her toothies are growing well, 4 up, 3 below.

14 mth and 2 weeks

realised i have not been so hardworking to jot down her developments, better do so when i can still remember.

1) She has 6 teeth now, 3 upper, 3 lower, i saw 2 more sprouting out though :)

2) She likes to eat (a lot!!). We basically give her a little of whatever we eat..not much control. She even drink sips of our soft drinks..hmm..

3) She is still not saying much, not even much babbling, but she gets excited when she sees Jasper and starts talking to the dog. haha. She can say yi (1), er (2), yaya (teeth), bark bark (when she sees Jasper), mum mum, mama, papa, bao bao.

4) Her temper is really bad, she demands for things and wants it her way.

5) She is walking more steadily, starting to run.

6) She can eat bread by herself, but she gets impatient or greedy and stuff the whole piece into her mouth.

7) She knows when we tell her to take her shoes, she attempts to wear them. She can also take them off (opening the velcro).

8) She behaves quite well in LNT class :)

Am suppose to bring her for her chicken pox jab, but haven't find the time yet. Hmm...

Sensory beanie bag

Have to thank H's gan ma (Tks Wei!) for making this very nice sensory beanie bag, after seen the idea from someone else's site. I thought it was a cute thing for H to play with, so colorful with the ribbons. :)

Also, gan ma help to sew 2 pillow covers and a nice fat pillow for H with the buckwheats she bought. Super nice :)

Clingy Heidi

We had just return from Tokyo (4th - 11th April), our first long trip on plane with our dear little princess. Luckily daddy & mummy were kris flyers members and managed to redeem free tickets to Tokyo. Overall, we had to pay around 1k in tax for 3, Heidi only need to pay tax, no need ticket.

Waiting at terminal 2, so brought her to the playground where we saw a little cute ang moh girl :)

She was quite cooperative on the plane, she played, walked around, slept (on me, not the bassinet which she only used once for the flight through n fro). I would say her performance on the plane was good :). The weather in Tokyo was quite cold on the first day, so we wrapped her like a ba zhang.

We went Shinjuku Garden the first day - it was really really very nice with all the cherry blossoms blooming :). Many people were there having picnics enjoying the nice scenery, it really felt very nice.

2nd day - we went to this interesting place at Ikekuburo, sunshine city - Namja Town. It's actually a game park, but there's also a gyoza stadium and ice-cream land (u can find all ice-cream of japan here). Too bad we can't understand japanese, otherwise i think it would be fun to join in their games. Everyone was holding a "walkie talkie" device in their hand, it seems that they are trying to find something, and if u complete it, you will get a cat toy.

3rd day - we could not miss going to the zoo, since this time we are with H. So we head off to Ueno Park, where we see beautiful cherry blossoms (for free), and lot of stalls selling food, but we were too full to tried them, though they look interesting though. H was sleeping when we reach Ueno, but woke up in time when we just enter the zoo. :) There were lots of interesting animals that we don't see in Singapore zoo, so it was an eye opener for us as well. Also, i feel that the animals in this zoo seems to be much livelier and active, maybe due to the nice cool weather. They even had a small farm place where all the animals (goats, sheeps, chickens) were roaming about, H has so much fun chasing them around.

4th day - as mummy was an avid "surfer", she managed to find out from someone's blog that there's this place called parasite muesuem, ok..its quite gross, cos u see all the worms that could exist in your body..args..haha..there's a tapeworm which was so long...like almost 4m? It was a small small muesuem, which not really tourist can spot upon, so daddy concluded mummy is very "good". I even found my way to a fabric shop from no where, hahaha..of course i grabbed some fabrics with very cute prints to make crafts for H. :) We passed by also the Meguro river (which was not our first intention to go there), then we realised it is suppose to be famous..haha..as usual, there's the nice cherry blossoms along the rivers which were quite a scene. As you can see, everywhere you see cherry blossoms. :P

5th day - daddy wanted it to be a relaxing last day, since we were returning to Sg the next day, so he did not want us to tired out. So we walked to the Isetan at Shinjuku, and did some shoppign within the aircon :), buying some last min gifts. We also went to Asakusa, which is our last stop for Japan. We were here the last time, but this time we brought H to go there and pray :). I still believe it was that statue we prayed to in Japan (Nikko) that blessed us with a beautiful and happy baby :).

We are bringing Heidi to Japan this coming Saturday 4th to 11th April. It's very exciting and challenging for us as this is the first trip which requires us to take a plane together. As it is now very cold in Japan 10-15 deg, I have made a lot of purchases online for clothings which can keep her warmth, and i hope it will be sufficient.

We are in the midst of packing, and oh my gosh, its really is a lot of things. We are even planning to lug the slow cooker there :P. I am also knitting a scarf for Heidi, it's only 1/3 done, and i really hope it can be completed in time.

Look at the tights which i bought for Heidi from http://www.gap.com/ heee..its way too big as it has too much excess materials. (i bought size 2T). But its dam cute to see her dressed up i think :)

Heidi is down with fever again, together with running/block nose and a chesty cough. She merlioned her porridge on Tuesday, it really looked like cheese fondue...sigh

Her temperature hit 38.5 yesterday night, so i fed her some parecetamol, and also the flu and cough medicine. Wipe her forehead with the wet towel, wanted to paste the cooling gel on her but she keep pulling it out :(, in the end i just leave it. Use the wet towel and keep wiping her forehead and neck.

Poor girl, hope you recover soon, cos we are going Malaysia on Sat and Sunday, and 1 more week we are going Japan. Jia you ok!

Being the KS mum as labelled by my colleagues,haha..i recently bought the Baby can read DVDs for Heidi. I was quite motivated after seeing a video clip of how a baby can recognize words at 9months. Actually all along i know that parents do play an important role to impart the child with knowledge. However, being a working mum is sure not an easy task to have to manage job and a child. I started in the beginning very enthusiastically doing flashcard, i have loads now, but i do not consistentely flash them which is quite a pity :(.

Back to the DVDS i bought, i started showing Heidi on Saturday 21st March and today is the 4th day, she has seen the video at least 8 times (recommended is 2 times a day). And she can understand the words "arms up" :),she will lift both hands high up, but i tried showing the word arms up to her, she don't do the action, i think she only understand the instructions so far by listening. And this is all taught by the video, not us..so u can imagine the powerful tools. I am quite impressed with the DVD, and i have bought so many, this is the first DVD which she seems to enjoy the whole show.

Heidi is very attached to me and my mum lately. We cannot be out of sight, otherwise she will start to cry. Even though i think it's not a good behaviour, but it melts you to know that she needs you.

She fell off the bed on Sat night, when everyone was all asleep. Her lips was bleeding, and we din realised it until we switch on the lights to see why she wouldn't stop crying, and we got the shock of our life. My heart nearly flipped when i saw so much blood oozing from her mouth. i had blood all over my t-shirt. my heart nearly sank when i saw the blood, quickly ask daddy to get a towel and i was trying to see where she had cut herself. Luckily it was a minor cut on the upper lip, but the blood scene put everyone on a panic mode. We quickly wash her up and clean her wound, nothing much to apply since the cut was internal so we try to dry it up with a towel. What a night...

This is her development lately.

Speech
1. I can hear her mumbling mama bao bao (mummy carry)
2. She can call popo and papa
3. She mumbles a lot, especially at night.
4. She is still saying her fav mum mum, aiyo, i think she tried saying dog
5. I thought i heard her say bye bye when we ask her to wave byebye :)

Psycho motor skills
1. During the LNT class, she can poke the sticks into the holes herself (only 2-3 sticks and she got tired of it), she can pull out the sticks from the holes as well.
2. She still cannot drink from a straw, but she can slurp from a cup
3. She loves to climb up the slide, and during the JWT trial, she climb up the slide and slide down herself..hmm..
4. She can kick herself to float in the swimming pool, only for a few seconds.

Health
1. She has 3 bottom teeth now, 2 crooked though (i tried to massage it to make it straight..), 2 upper teeth
2. At 12 months she was 8.5kg, 74cm tall (which i think its not accurate :P)

Food
1. She tasted a lot of our food, but not as a proper meal
2. My mum will let her drink soup for her dinner porridge and she loves it

13th month old Heidi

Heidi is now 13 months old. She can walk pretty well, and loves to walk around the house. She will know where to find her shoes and will point to the door to ask you to bring her out.

We brought Heidi for her first trial class at little Neuro tree on Saturday (14th March). The class was in Japanese today and Yumi sensei was the teacher in charge.

We began the class with a opening song, followed by various activities. There were a total of 5 babies and parents, youngest being Alexander,a german 10mth old.

Activities include

1) blowing at a bear on the swing

2) putting shapes into the correct shape box

3) making a photoframe

4) learn about full and empty

5) tall and short,

6) numbers flashcards

Little Neurotree

We went for a preview talk at Little Neurotree at PoMo (Selegie), given the hypes on the right brain training that many parents are so interested in. I sucuumbed to the idea eventually, not Shichida (din had much good impression of Shichida), so we went to take a look at what Little NeuroTree offers. There will be 3 trial classes, which is good so that i can get to access if its suitable for Heidi.

Heidi started taking 5 to 6 steps yesterday and we are so amazed. However she only demonstrated it around 2 times. But today she started walking a lot. She walk to and fro so many times. How exciting for me to witness it!

Heidi celebrated her first birthday at the zoo. We had so much fun :)

We are now also friends of the zoo - hee, so we can go to the zoo many times this year :)

Finally the birthday party was over. We had anticipated 35 guests but turn out only 30 came. The food from good luck kitchen was not too bad, portion was also generous. We had quite some leftovers which we had to pack and eat for Monday (since we had a kitchen to heat up the food).

We had the help of our dear friends to decor the place, practically we had everything set up in 2 hrs..haha..i was in a frenzy..cos it was so rush. Luckily everything turn out well :)

Cake from cupcakedivinity received good reviews. The chocolate cake was moist and not too sweet. The cupcakes were delicious and so pretty!

Heidi was quite happy that day, she even clapped her hands when people finished singing the birthday song for her..hee hee.

We enjoy the 3 days at the chalet, went swimming, cyling, and phototaking, very relax indeed.

Heidi has 2 teeth since last week! 1 upper and 1 lower. so cute now that she will smile and u can see half a toothy (still not fully out yet)

She hasn't been feeling well since CNY, there's the cough and running nose which is on/off. She has seen 2 doctors now, hopefully she will recover in time to celebrate her birthday. Looking forward to her birthday on sunday. We have got a lot of party decor stuff, i think i overspent a bit :P on the balloons and decor..keke. bought a few really nice mylar balloons from birthday express.

We booked a chalet at aloha loyang, garden terrace, wanted to book the pool terrace but not available any more.

Brought Ms Ho to a salon for a proper hair cut since CNY is coming. She was so guai, behaving herself by sitting calmly on the bumbo, even though the hairs were on her face, and i think it itched her. Nevertheless she behaved very well, bravo little gal. Her new hairstyle is short, which i think is not so nice though :P. Hopefully it grows long in time for her birthday party.

I am so excited over her party, i got the balloons and the cake and now pending is her buffet caterer which is a headache...i haven't confirm any?!!!

What has she been up to?

She had her fringe cut just before the 10th month

She now is trying to lift her butt up to crawl

She can sit up on her own while on crawling position

She can pull herself to stand quite well

She's getting heavier! Daddy says she's been chubbier after he came back from RT..haha

So looking forward to spending xmas as 1 whole family - it's so complete with Heidi this year. We have loads of pressies for her..(opps)..we just can't resist buying presents for our little baby..keke..but GY agrees, mummy buy better choices for Heidi..haha..

We r plannig to bring Heidi to Orchard road to take pictures with the nice xmas decor..daddy..shall we go this weekend :)

Heidi managed to sit up from crawling position - but so far she has only demonstrated it once..heh..(by chance)

We are so looking forward to her next milestones - her teeth are still not popping!!

She's now starting to eat yougurt and cheese..yummy..and she loves it!

Whoopie - little gal going 9 months..she's so active now, can't sit still, always wanting to crawl out from me when i carry her.

Brought her to aquaduck swimming trial on the 7th Nov - it was very good with coach Ann. There was only 2 babies, so it was a pretty private class. Coach Ann sings and teaches the parent how to let the baby accustom to the water. We introduce swimming to Heidi at 5 months, so she's quite comfortable in the water. There was 1 activity where you had to put the baby on the ledge and then sing the Humpty Dumpty song, and then make bb drop into the water..haha..she was quite timid, as she close her eyes real tight during each time she had to fall into the water. It was so amusing to see her reaction.

We promise to bring her swimming more often!

my little baby is still boh gey, hehe..waiting for her toothy grin to show..but i think she's rather adorable without toothy.

Many mummies are very hardworking to update their babies milestones..hmm..i did try, but sigh..no energy to do so..work has been tough without my good old boss around..seriously comtemplating of...u know la ha..

However, let me try to recall the special things she do every month since birth.

1st month
She sleeps most of the times - even had to wake her up for milk. She is already on the bottle from the 2nd week.haha.

2nd month
She is now more alert, and getting more difficult to handle, because we had to decipher what each cry means. She learns to goo goo gaga and smiles when she wakes up in the middle of the night for her milk.

3rd month
She learns to sleep throughout the night (wake up around 5-6am), with occasional stirs in her sleep (probably bad dreams).
She started her flashcards and number training

4th month
She learns to laugh lough..omg..its so contagious..we simply adore her laughter.

5mth month
She holds her head up while on tummy
She learns to turn to the side..trying to flip from tummy to back..
She sits in her bumbo
She went swimming!
She knows how to take her toys and play

6mth month
She flips quite well tummy to back..still learning from back to tummy
She learns to sit
She starts on the walker..wow..slow and steady..only know how to go-stan
She starts saying mum mum
She discover the remote control is very fun to play with

7mth month
She zooms around in her walker
She can flip from tummy to back, back to tummy
She learns to creep
She learns to sleep on her own when we sleep beside her on the master bed, then we transfer her to her little cot
She went to her first Baby

8mth month
She says ba ba ba ba...sometimes ma! so officially she has 3 words, ma, mum, ba.
She learns to creep faster..still not really crawling..but at least she moves..
She is glued to the TV..u shld see her reaction whenever we block her view from the TV..keke

Little Heidi is getting so much fun to play with, seeing her growing up everyday is simply precious. I am already starting to think about her 1 YO birthday party..which coincidentally falls on a Sat. :)

This month we are also attending Zavier's 1 YO birthday party on the 26th Oct (actual birthday on the 31st). Althea's birthday also coming up next on the 26th Nov. :)

Baby Jumper Gym

4th Oct 08 - Heidi went for her first trial class at BJG (Home Team) today. Baby Gwen (mummy jeannie), Baby Katelynn (mummy bkkgal), Baby Leonard (mjummy leila) and Baby Vera (mummy innocence) was there. We were rather on time, and the trainer started off with a hello song. The trainer looks very young, and overall the class was focus on right brain training (lots of flashcards and pictures), and also some gym exercises. However i found the lessons to be quite boring, could be because the trainer is not very experience, and didn't take much effor to warm up the atmosphere. Thus i did not decide to sign up for the class. Planning to bring Heid to the kindermusik trial class, most prob will sign her up for that as well.

Heidi behave quite well during the class, just that she was sometimes distracted by the ornaments on her dress..haha.BB Vera was already actively crawling. Gwen was very attentive..hehe..most well behave student. Kate was ever so adorable with her bright little eyes, and Leonard was "thrilled" to see hios gfs? keke..it was more enjoyable meeting the bb then the class..which was not cheap also. :P

gosh, haven't had a chance to blog lately. darn the work getting shitty nowadays with my nice boss not in Sg anymore..sigh..

let's update something nice.

Heidi is now 8.1 kg, 69cm as of her last vacination on the 13th Sept. She has finished all her 6 months vacination (finally my wallet can take a break). The next one will be when she's 1 yrs old, which is not so far away actually.

We brought her to her first overseas trip which was to Batam though (2-3rd Sept), haha. She behaved quite well throughout the trip and she seems quite comfortable even though overseas. We brought her shopping, actually she slept more, then swimming in the hotel.

Little Heidi is doing well! Now at a hefty 7.05kg during her last visit for her 4mth vacination (12/7/08). Indeed, now its a strain on the arms to carry her. She's so fun to play with now, her laughter is simply contagious. See her super chubby cheeks!

First need to update since its been very long i never blog.

22nd June 08 - Her first swimming at Bei bei mama's condo together with Althea jiejie.

13th July 08 - This is taken recently, as we went to the dog run with beibei mama on 14th July, together with Jasper. (finally a proper family outing!)

14th July 08 - Her 5mth photo update

15th July 08 - She's now starting on her rice cereals, still at the introduction stage though. i.e 1 tsp to a little BM fed via spoon, and then she will still resume drinking from bottle the remaining amt of milk. So exciting to be able to start her on solids.. :)

She's so fun to play with now..now she likes to play with her hanky..when i give her the hanky and then pull it away..she will be so thrilled with laughter..hahaa..so cute..

I am reading on GD books on How to teach your baby maths and How to teach baby to read. Really interesting programs..i hope to finish DIY materials and start on her soon..it will be so exciting for her to learn new things. My mum is helping with the flashcard for Chinese..lets see how much she can learn.. :)

Now she's managed to lift her head high, but still not learnt how to flip yet..although i think it will be soon..there's 1 time she tries to flip herself back from tummy time and she kena stuck.haha..

too young for potty training? my mum advocates early toilet training for Heidi, even bought her a green potty..haha..now she will sense when Heidi is going to pian pian, then we will make her sit on the potty..i had 2 successful attempts with Heidi too..but her poo smell can really make you faint...even her fart is super poisonous..haha..

Little heidi at 14 weeks

Little Heidi is growing well, getting cuter by the day, now she has learn to smile more often when we talk to her. Its also easier to coo her when she's crying or in a bad temper, no doubt her volume also went up. She's a super kungfu boxer as well..always raving her hands and kicking her legs..extremely farnie when you see her kicking when she's asleep. She will kick herself around the cot, pillow and blanket all out of place. We have been rather busy at work and not really have time to monitor all her growths and little stance. That is unfortunately the cons of being working parents. We could have missed most of first times which to me is rather significant, but to be able to provide well for her is also something we are proud of. Recently we bought her a lime green bumbo, after we went to try it out at another mummy's house. Forgot to mentioned that i joined the Feb mummies for a gathering finally, it was quite fun with the babies all around, all so chubby and cute! Now Heidi has learnt to lift her head when you put her on the tummy..so sweet.. :)
